Two-by-eights are attached through paneling and drywall into studs. Brackets go through the whole sandwich into the studs. They feel solid.

We installed the floor mats today, wall to wall interlocking black rubber. Tom is finishing up the cuts for one complicated wall now. These photos are from this morning. I had the privilege of training two CrossFit beginners at 5:30 tonight. Teaching the deadlift is my favorite thing! We worked on that (with kettlebells and barbells), as well as squats and push-ups, and then did a modified “Chelsea”: every minute on the minute, do three squats, two push-ups, and five kettlebell deadlifts.
