One of the major forces behind the development of the CrossFit Total, Coach Mark Rippetoe of Wichita Falls Athletic Club and Aasgaard Press, is no longer a certification provider for CrossFit–he’s branched out on his own and now offers a three-day barbell coach certification. Our trainer Stephanie Vuolo earned this certification recently. Regardless of whether Coach Rip is still a CrossFitter or not, we think the CrossFit Total will always be useful and fun. It’s a way to establish benchmarks in an informal lifting meet.
Today eight of our athletes (and later myself) discovered their heaviest squat, press, and deadlift. We’re proud of you! Thanks for your support and hard work, and congratulations on these nervy lifts.
