Want to try out for the CrossFit Games?

The earliest round of the CrossFit Games starts this week as an open competition. Competitors do each week’s workout and either submit a video or have a registered affiliate (like us) validate your workout results. There will be one workout a week for six weeks. The first workout will be announced tomorrow, March 15. If you want to compete, read the rules here and then register yourself as an individual. Power snatches, with a bonus: weighted pull-ups

We worked on power snatches today starting with the drop into a mini-overhead squat. We worked our way backwards through the lift sequence until we were lifting from the floor. It was awesome to see how focused everyone stayed while going through these small segments over and over–and even better how people worked on good snatch technique even in the heat of the WOD. Weightlifting class

Tonight our weightlifting class started up, focusing on the clean and jerk and the snatch. Here’s Jules working with Ernie as he drops under the bar so fast that he’s a blur! New class: Saturday 7:30 AM CrossFit

Thanks for making our Saturday classes so full and so much fun. We are adding a 7:30 AM Saturday class to the schedule starting this weekend, Feb. 12th. For now, the free CrossFit beginners’ class stays at 8:30, but we are considering changing that one to 10:30. That way we could have three regular CrossFit classes in a row at the earlier times of day. What do you think? Thanks for helping us grow! P.S.
